All Baptist Churches Are Not Alike...
All Baptist churches are not alike.
Like other Baptists, Seventh Day Baptists believe in:
*the saving love of Jesus Christ
*the Bible as the inspired word of God and a record of God’s will for man. The Bible is our authority both for our faith and our daily conduct.
*freedom of thought under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
*the congregational form of church government. Every member of the church has the right to participate in the decision making process of the church.
So why are Seventh Day Baptists different?
Seventh Day Baptists observe the Biblical seventh day Sabbath, the day established and blessed by God at earth’s creation. The Sabbath was given to mankind long before any distinctions between Jew and Gentile. God commanded that the seventh day (Saturday) be kept holy. Jesus agreed by keeping it as a day of worship. We observe the seventh day of the week (Saturday) as God’s Holy Day as an act of loving obedience--not as a means of salvation. Salvation is the free gift of God through Jesus Christ. The Sabbath provides believers with a specific time to honor and worship the Creator. It is the joy of the Sabbath that makes Seventh Day Baptists just a little bit different.

hello, we are a group of students who wish to visit your church this sabbath. i am a bit confused as on google maps it says that you are located on 7950 SE 62nd Ave
Portland, OR 97206.
however on your website it says that you are meeting on 1422 Se Tacoma St Portland, OR 97202.
it would be a huge help if you could clear this up for us. thank you and God bless.

I apologize I didn't respond sooner. I was having email troubles. Portland Area SDB Church used to meet at the 62nd Avenue address. We have recently moved to a new building in the Sellwood Area, 1422 SE Tacoma St, Portland OR 97202.
Feel free to respond or call the pastor at 503-287-6880 for more information.
Thank you for your interest!
Are you Calvinist in your beliefs of the scripture or no. I consider myself a sabbath keeping, post trib, Calvinist thinking believer.
I'm seeking a non 7thday adventist church to attend. But I live in Hillsboro..is there any home meetings my way?
Christina
Christina,
Thank you for your question. Some in our group are Calvinist and others are not. Each hold different views on the end of days. We hold to the belief of freedom of thought for each individual under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Unfortunately we only have our one group in Oregon which is located in Portland in the Sellwood Area at 1422 SE Tacoma St, Portland OR 97202. We do not have any Hillsboro meetings.
If you would like to come and check us out we may be willing to consider holding Bible Studies in Hillsboro as we alternate the location of our Tuesday evening studies.
Have a great day.
Secretary,
Portland Area Seventh Day Baptist Church
