COVENANT of the Portland Area Seventh Day Baptist Church

Having been, as we trust, brought by divine grace into fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior from sin, we solemnly and joyfully covenant with one another:


*To take the Bible as a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, giving special heed to regular systematic scripture reading. Psalms 119:105

*To encourage each other to devote a daily period of time toward understanding scripture interpretation and personal application, as the Spirit directs us.

*To meet together in Sabbath worship to glorify and praise the Lord.

*To serve and uphold each other in Christian love and concern as we approach that great Day when all things will be changed.

*To walk together in Christ, whose we are and whom we profess to serve.

*To mature in grace and truth together in Christian love.

*To forgive any grievances we have against each other, as the Lord forgave us. Colossians 3:13

*To give a voluntary and cheerful offering to the Lord according to our ability, for the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom in this world toward meeting the necessary expenses of the church. II Corinthians 9:6-15, I Corinthians 4:1-2, Luke 12:34, Romans 13:7, Matthew 22:19-21

*To give of our personal gifts as the Spirit has given us as we attend the appointments and bear the burdens of the church and thereby make the church the functioning body of Christ. James 2:15-17 & 4:17, Deuteronomy 16:17, Psalms 37:21, I Peter 4:10-11, Ephesians 4:7 & 4:11-13
